Museo Valenciano de la Ilustración y la Modernidad (MuVIM)

Add to calendar 11/11/22 04/16/23 Europe/Madrid EXHIBITION. “Design + Health” "Design + Health" is the result of a research in all design disciplines, from industry to architecture, passing through graphic communication or fashion, without forgetting what the pandemic has generated or the social emergencies that exist in other parts of the world. A transversal look that reviews the past, dissects the present and projects into the future to illustrate that science and medicine evolve and will continue to evolve with the help of technology and design. Divided into different blocks and developed along 25 or so themes, the exhibition opens on November 11 (officially open to the public from November 12, 2022 to April 16, 2023) at MuVIM, Museu Valencià de la Il·lustració i de la Modernitat. The exhibition is curated by Ramón Úbeda, Special Mention at the 2021 National Design Awards for his informative work in this area throughout his life.
  • A timely and necessary sample, for its social nature and for everything we are experiencing.
  • Educational and informative, to show things that we do not know and how design can help improve medical care.
  • Rigorous and multidisciplinary, because it also serves to inform, warn or prevent.
It is a project of World Design Capital Valencia 2022 and MuVIM which, with the support of the Diputació de València and the collaboration of the Ajuntament de València, constitutes an exhibition of general interest, so that everyone can visit it. “Good design can save your life, you don't need to go into a hospital to check it out. The helmet to work on the construction site, to give an undervalued example, has been created for this purpose”. The search work has served to bring together more than 500 examples from practically all disciplines of creativity: industrial, graphic, infographic, digital, advertising, architectural, interior, fashion or automotive design. That serve to explain, in a friendly way, that "design is good for health". This is how the book that will complement the exhibition will be titled. Many of the objects are signed by renowned designers such as Barber Osgerby, Yves Béhar, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, Matali Crasset, Charles and Ray Eames, Benjamin Hubert, Piero Lissoni, Nendo, Satyendra Pakhalé, Raw Color, Giulio Ridolfo, Mario Ruiz, Philippe Starck and Tokujin Yoshioka, among many others. You can see for the first time in Spain the Emergency Bike that is already rolling in tests in Paris, the solidarity projects of Not Impossible Labs and the Pure Plants by External Reference, printed in 3D with a new material capable of purifying the air we breathe. *** Graphic design, by Dídac Ballester & Antonio Ballesteros.
