With a solid artistic base in LZF’s DNA; Marivi Calvo, co-founder and creative director of the firm, graduated in Fine Arts; since its beginnings, this influence has been perceived in all aspects and designs of the company. From 16 June to 09 October, LZF will be showing this art in the form of sculptural light with the exhibition Night in the Museum, at the Valencia Fine Arts Museum.
Life-Size Collection
This exhibition, located in the museum’s foyer, welcomes us with an impressive display of the Life Size collection, LZF’s most sculptural and handcrafted light pieces, made with the classic wood carving technique used by Fallas artisans, known as “vareta”. The Life-Size collection is, in many ways, a tribute to the Valencian Fallas artisans. Since the launching in 2015 of Koi, an amazing illuminated fish over 3.5 metres long, the collection has grown to include several new models. In addition to Koi, we will be able to see Big Bird from the same collection in the exhibition
An iconic Candelabra illuminates the visitor
Imagine a ceiling lamp containing some of LZF’s greatest hits: that is Candelabro, a design by Mariví Calvo that bringstogether the most representative elements of the collection of pendant lamps made from wood veneer. Combined, thesefabulous pieces offer an unusual light show.
