The Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània opens the doors of the exhibition “Play with Design” as part of the program of activities of València World Design Capital 2022.
The exhibition, which can be visited from June 23 to October 23, 2022, highlights the playful nature of design through a large sample of the work of different professionals from around the world who are major international references.

Curated by Milimbo -a studio formed by Trinidad Olcina and Juanjo Oller- “Play with Design” covers the work of master figures of international design such as Fredun Shapur (South Africa), Ken Garland (UK), Patrick Rylands (UK), Cruz Novillo (Spain), Antonio Vitali (Switzerland), Libuse Niklová (Czech Republic), Bruno Munari or Enzo Mari (Italy), as well as some more current references such as Séverin Millet (France), Damien Poulain (France), Isidro Ferrer (Spain), Vincent Mathy (Belgium), Richard McGuire (United States), Paul Farrell (United Kingdom), Héctor Serrano (Spain), Pep Carrió (Spain), Floris Hovers (Holland) and Raquel Franjul (Spain). A selection of creators from all corners of the world ranging from illustration to scenic design, from ‘papier découpé’ to ceramics, from graphic signs to combinatorial games. “A great game board conceived from design and aimed at society”, is how Juanjo Oller defines it.
Some of these figures have created expressly for the exhibition a series of games with which the visitor can interact and stop being a mere spectator to become an active part of the exhibition, in a tangible demonstration of the didactic capacity of design.
