The exhibition, which will remain open to the public until November 4, will be held within the framework of activities promoted by World Design Capital Valencia 2022.

The Universitat Politècnica de València, with the participation of the Swedish Embassy in Spain and the Textile Industry Research Association – AITEX, opens the exhibition “SUSTAINABLE FASHION-TEXTILES OF THE FUTURE”, on October 18, in Room n -1 of the university.

The exhibition, which will remain open to the public until November 4, will be held within the framework of activities promoted by World Design Capital Valencia 2022.

The exhibition will showcase initiatives, projects and innovative solutions around fashion and textiles in general, in the interests of a sustainable and circular industry model, and will host two conferences that will bring together companies in the sector, professionals, specialists and scholars.

The first conference: “Sustainable Fashion: Textiles of the Future”, will be held on October 25, with the collaboration of the Swedish Embassy in Madrid and the Textile Industry Research Association – AITEX.
Different speakers will participate and discuss the latest research and innovations in the textile sector: recycling, circularity, sustainability … are the challenges that the sector faces urgently. Among other speakers will participate María del Mar Blanes, Director of International Projects of AITEX, and Jonas Larsson, professor at the University of Borås, researcher in numerous international projects in the field of textile management and sustainability of production in the textile industry. The day will present the project “circular programme”, the project for training in sustainable fashion that unites H&M and Juan Vidal (harpersbazaar.com), with the participation of Nuria Ramirez from H&M and Guillermo Garcia, Director of CSDMM – UPM.

The second day: “New textile projects for a new economy”, will be held on November 2, with the collaboration of Paloma G. López, Director The Circular Project – CSFW Madrid Circular Sustainable Fashion Week Madrid – President SIC MODA Spanish Association for Sustainability, Innovation and Circularity in Fashion – CirCoAx by CircularInnoBooster.
The conference will present the four COSME projects winners of the call for circular fashion and introduce the latest research on the production and impact of the life cycle of a garment, with the participation of Pedro Olazábal of Hands-ln- Impact and Joan Arnau of Hilaturas Arnau. It will also present the latest trends in dyes for the textile market, accompanied by Silvia Grau (Pigmentalia) and Mar Márquez (Humana Ecoprint).

Both conferences will be held in the Assembly Hall of the School of Computer Engineering of the UPV (building 1H), on the days indicated, from 10 to 14h. You can follow the event via streaming at the following link.
