Add to calendar 02/18/22 05/22/22 Europe/Madrid EXHIBITION. “Bruno Munari” First retrospective dedicated in Spain to Bruno Munari (Milan, 1907-1998) and the most complete exhibition to date outside of Italy on this multidisciplinary artist, especially known for being one of the most important figures in design and visual communication of the 20th century. . Munari sought the essence of art and design in the balance between rigor and lightness, always making use of play, humor and irony. This kind of “Bruno Munari group show” (as he titled one of his exhibitions) includes paintings, drawings and sculptures –works of two and three dimensions, as the artist used to refer to them–, projections and light plays, pieces of graphic and industrial design, typographic and written exercises and children's books, among other works. The selection ranges from his first works linked to futurism and graphic design and to his latest experiments in the nineties. The exhibition and the publication that accompanies it are organized into areas built around the methodological concepts essential to Munari's work - time, method, lightness, experimentation or contemplation - in which nearly three hundred works from from private collections and public and private institutions.
