La Base, the cultural space of La Marina, is reactivated with an exhibition that brings together more than a hundred paintings from the collective collection of the contemporary art center Àcentmètresducentredumonde in Perpignan, founded by the Valencian agricultural entrepreneur, social activist, collector and patron Vicent Madramany and that can be visited from October 27 to January 10, 2022.
It is the first time that such a wide selection of works that Madramany collected for more than half a century, since the 1960s, can be seen. The exhibition supports his figure and his “vital passion” for painting in four rooms that bring together the works of 33 artists.

‘Memory’, ‘fiction’ and ‘intimacy’ are the three main axes on which the exhibition tour of the figurative and abstract paintings that Madramany collected throughout his life is structured. He began by collecting the works of friendly artists such as the Valencians Armengol, Boix or Heras. But starting in 2004, when he founded the art center in Perpignan – in an industrial building that he bought and restored himself – he opened up to many more creators.
Thus, the exhibition that will be at La Base de la Marina until January 10, 2022, includes pieces by Valerio Adami, Lucebert, Ben Vautier, Jean Le Gac, Pat Andrea, Toni Bevan or Claude Viallat, together with the Valencian Javier Chapa , Adrià Pina, Chema López, Santiago Ydáñez, Tania Blanco, Mery Sales, Carolina Ferrer, Ernesto Casero, as well as Armengol, Boix and Heras, among others.
