Add to calendar 03/15/22 19:00 04/24/22 Europe/Madrid EXHIBITION. The ‘llibret de falla’: a cultural opportunity The present work understands -and insists on understanding- the Fallas tradition as an associative fabric capable of building an ephemeral, self-managed, autonomous and combative museum, which transforms the city outside the productive-global functioning of the world for a few days, according to a tactical-festive and experimental urbanism associated with cultural encounters, folklore and fun. Thus, it is intended to collect the oral and experiential testimony of what was experienced in the ceremonial catharsis and the neighborhood revelry, focusing on an -sometimes- unknown object, but which turns out to be the most faithful testimony to what happened: the llibret de falla. Focusing on these publications, this cultural project collects a sample of llibrets de falla, as intense catalogs of popular Valencian art. But it does not do so with a merely demonstrative or historical intention, but rather by pursuing the opportunity to the Valencian cultural industry, encouraging it to participate in it today, communicating that it is a powerful local tool for transformation. For this reason, although the exhibition will collect fundamental historical llibrets to understand its evolution to the present, it will focus mainly on those copies with an outstanding edition, especially on an aesthetic level, and focusing in recent years, where significant advances have been made. The books will be accompanied by a photograph of the fault to which they refer, because they do not exist without it. In addition, at the inauguration event of this ephemeral library, the Fallas I+E Federation and World Design Capital Valencia 2022 will also present the new Documentation Center of the Fallas, a database currently in development that constitutes a democratized vehicle of access to information on the most relevant festive literature in the llibrets de falla. A project directed by Ricardo Ruiz
