The image that surrounds the fruits is part of the graphic content that consumers daily see in Spain and Europe. They are popular designs, many have been with us for years and are updated almost inadvertently. “Design Fruits” is a project to recover the existing graphics around fruit brands with a focus on designs created since the late 1950s.
In this period, which began with the economic reactivation at the end of the post-war period, a change in style was generated with respect to the creations of the early twentieth century, stimulated by the renewal of printing techniques. Originally, the image of the fruit was based on illustrations by artists, but now graphics prevail, with designs focused on typography, based on flat and striking colors, around brands with surprising names such as Delirio, Fantasía, Fetiche, Filósofo, Infinita, La Deseada, Museum, Sherlock, Solita, Succulent, Pillín, Lollipop, Emporium, Top, etc.
“Design Fruits” presents a selection of these brands, identifying the design of excellence in products that surround us, highlighting the value of the work of local creators and designers often unknown, framing their work in the contemporary design environment. The exhibition is aimed at the general public and in particular at designers, journalists, historians, students, curious, collectors, companies in the sector…
