The person in charge of kicking off this new cultural stage in Muviment was the artist Marta Torres. Marta has published two illustrated albums, No Turista and Hermanos en Siria, with which she has received awards from the Conselleria de Educación, Cultura y Deporte as the best illustrated book of 2019 for No Turista, and the Comic and Social Development award from the Divina Foundation Pastor for the book Hermanos en Siria. Her concern for social issues makes her find inspiration in them for much of her work.
The months of December and January was the turn of graphic artist Elías Taño, known for his illustrations in books for publishers such as Bromera, Virus or Tigre de Paper, articles in magazines or posters for music events, unions, festivals, plays, etc. ,
From February to March, the work of the Valencian artist Aitana Carrasco was presented, with an extensive career as a writer and illustrator of children’s literature and winner of the IX Illustrated Album Contest: A la Orilla del Viento (Mexico).
During the months of April and May, the protagonist was destined to the Valencian illustrator Luís Demano -son and grandson of painters-, whose works have been seen in agencies such as Mrs. Rushmore or newspapers such as ABC and El Mundo. His first job foray into the graphic field was in the comic and illustration magazine Nosotros somos los muertos. Luís works are also characterized by a clear component of social criticism and protest.
