FESTIVAL. «Besign Fest»

Urban design, palpable, enjoyable at street level and designed to generate a social impact on the city. Conferences to bring people closer to the most relevant voices and visions of the design of the Valencian Community and the current and dynamic scenario on which it is projected. Workshops where creativity and territory merge. On these pillars revolves the fifteen events that make up the fourth edition of Besign Fest 2022, the Interdisciplinary Design Festival of Castelló. It will take the stage from October 26 to 29, promoted by the Association of Designers and Creatives of Castelló La Exprimidora, with the support of the City Council and the sponsorship of APE Group, and lands this year with an extra. It boosts its projection by becoming an official event of World Design Capital Valencia 2022, “a milestone not only for the city of Valencia but for the whole Valencian territory, so from the beginning it was considered that the Besign had to be part of the official program of the capital, because it contributes to make us fertile territory for creativity,” says Marisa Gallén, president of the Associació València Capital del Disseny.

To this contributes the agenda of activities meticulously woven, and that completes a fortnight of appointments to position itself, on the ground, as a national and international showcase as a land of good design.

The great attraction of this edition is that all the speakers and workshop participants are from the Valencian Community, with representation from the three provinces, and that the festival exceeds its 48-hour format for the first time. The essence of Besign, however, remains the same. It offers us the opportunity to come together in an environment that is not only didactic, but also has a lot of fun, with the Pechakucha on Friday 28th as a start, which is a very agile format and gives rise to conversation, and with the presentations on Saturday 29th at the Teatre del Raval, which aim to share problems that the entire sector shares in order to find solutions together.
