EXHIBITION: FORBIDDEN FLYPOSTING. REA. Valencian posters 2000-2020

The poster, the great weapon of mass distribution in the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries, which lost pace compared to new media such as television, is once more up against the wall. The reduction in spaces for free expression and the progress of social media have changed the way we communicate in digital space and time: will the poster finally fall by the wayside?

However, companies and institutions are renewing their trust in this revitalised medium and they consider it necessary to have an image for every action to be communicated. Over the last twenty years more posters have been designed than ever in the cultural and social field. The poster is one of the favourite pieces of professional designers and illustrators and, despite its ephemeral nature, it represents the graphic memory of a society.

The ADCV (Association of Designers of the Valencian Community) and the Consorci de Museus present an exhibition curated by Boke Bazán which offers a panoramic view of the whole Valencian region with 600 posters by 222 authors of different generations, at the beginning of a century in which Valencian creativity enjoys great prestige.
