SCREENING. “Film Designs: 2001 cycle, a space odissey”

The “Film Designs” series at the Filmoteca, organized by the Institut Valencià de Cultura within the framework of World Design Capital Valencia 2022, continues in June with 2001, a space odyssey (1969), an essential film by Stanley Kubrick that defined the canon of science fiction cinema.

Synopsis: Millions of years ago, before the appearance of “homo sapiens”, some primates discover a monolith that leads them to a higher stage of intelligence. Millions of years later, another monolith, buried on a moon, arouses the interest of scientists. Finally, during a NASA mission, HAL 9000, a computer with artificial intelligence, is in charge of controlling all the systems of a manned spacecraft.
