World Design Spotlight designs illustrate Teika cups

Teika and World Design Capital Valencia 2022 have joined forces to highlight the designs of Valencian professionals promoted by the World Design Spotlight project, which have now been transferred to the vending company’s cups.

After the success of the first cup campaign informing about the beginning of the year 2022, and with it World Design Capital Valencia, Teika is once again collaborating with the organization by promoting design through its supports. On this occasion, the result of this conjunction is a new collection of cups, as well as the laterals of machines and points of sale distributed around the city of Valencia, where the image of the creators is shown to recall the most outstanding milestones of their work.

Is a celebration of Valencian design and its professionals".

As Xavi Calvo, director of World Design Capital Valencia 2022, explains, World Design Spotlight “is a celebration of Valencian design and its professionals. A tribute to the design community that, from the local level, promotes the image of the city, its values, its companies and its initiatives, to the whole world“.

In this sense, Teika has more than 6 thousand points of sale throughout Spain and, as Berti Barber, director of Marketing and Sustainable Projects, explains, “the proposal we made to the World Design Capital Valencia 2022 was that, for several weeks, the coffee in Teika’s vending machines would be served in cups where we can get to know the most outstanding Valencian designs“.

And so it is. More than nine million coffees are going to be dispensed in cups where we remember, for example, “La literatura”, the most emblematic bookshelf by Vicent Martínez who won the National Design Award in 1997; the Fallas posters that Iban Ramón made for the Fallas in 2016, just at the time when they were considered Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO; the poster for the Gran Fira de València created by the Yinsen studio or the very well-known palm tree by Pepe Gimeno that has become the image of the Comunitat Valenciana abroad, among others.

A total of 12 creations printed in black on yellow, the corporate colours of World Design Capital Valencia 2022, and which are sure to become a much-loved collection by those who value design and its creators.

Compared to the previous collection, which was more generic, Teika has sought to personalise this campaign to highlight the image, personality and presence as creators of unique elements. Yonoh, Yinsen, Ramón Esteve, Pepe Gimeno, Ibán Ramón, Vicente Martínez and Carlos Ferrando are the designers who can be seen on the sides of the vending points, photographed by Cristina Brotons. The final composition of both the 12 designs for the cups and the vinyls for the points of sale is by Alba Llidó. Both are members of Teika’s marketing and communication team. The campaign has also benefited from the technical advice of Juan Catalán and the collaboration of the Quatre films studio.
